In 2005 Mrs Ruth Sharples, who was at that time Chairman of Coningsby Parish Council donated a trophy to be awarded annually to a person or organisation who, Coningsby Parish Council feel,  has contributed the most to the community of Coningsby.  The trophy, a silver cup, was donated in memory of her father Mr Ralph Martin Rickard who served as a Parish Councillor. .

The Parish Council have agreed on the following criteria for awarding the Rickard Cup.

1   To be awarded annually

2   To be presented to the winner at the Annual Parish Meeting by a member of the Rickard Family

3   The panel to choose the winner to be made up of three councillors - Chairman, Vice Chairman and Retiring Chairman.

4   Decision to be revealed at the March Parish Council Meeting

5   To be presented to a person or persons who, in the opinion of the panel, has contributed the most to the community of Coningsby

6  The cup to be held for a year and returned to the Parish Office in March

7  A certificate to be presented to the winner to keep

8  Nominations can be made by anyone within  the parish.  Names to be with  the panel by the last day of February each year.

9  Details to be circulated each year to organizations and clubs as well as the press to receive maximum coverage

10 The Rickard Cup remains the property of Coningsby Parish Council.
